First hunt of the year and found what looks to be a sterling silver US military ring of some sort. It is on the smallish side so I'm thinking it could be a women's ring. Joined TreasureNet today in order to get some help with identifying / dating this ring as I have been unable to find an image match when searching the Internet. I found a 1928 Ingraham pocket watch about 2 ft. away as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

It's a "Son In Service" ring (or brother, husband, etc) It's not military issue but was made to indicate that the wearer had a relative off in the war. I'd say it's WW2 era probably. Really cool find!

Thanks for the help!! Now to find relations to whoever may have owned it. That will be an interesting project. Thanks again!

If you found it in a yard, you may be able to track back to who lived there at the time. It may be a long shot but would be a nice return to a surviving family member
