Pics of the back would be helpful.

Looks like a generic button, but more info would be helpful. How old is the home you live in ? Are you located in an Historical area where Civil War or other War battles may have taken place ? Are you in an Historic area of your community ? For example, there were military buttons that had stacked Cannon Balls on them like yours does, indicating that the person wearing that button was in the Artillery unit. There were some slight differences though. Im sure someone on the forum will be able to ID your button if you supply just a little more info on the area you found it in. Thanks, and keep on hunting ! Any button is a nice find as far as I'm concerned.

We Live in Jersey Shore Pa , I know there is alot of Military history here but unsure of exact history. Our home was built in the early 1900's I think . The back of the button is rusty and packed with dirt and we dont want to ruin it trying to remove it.

Interesting button! :occasion14:

is the front cloth? If the back is rusted and the front is cloth it might be a modernish blazer jacket button.

Yes, post pics of the back and maybe ruler beside. Reminds me of stacked cannon balls.

Be glad it wasnt some rare valuable find because there would go the yard lol
