Found an odd item at an old park today. It looks like an old hand-made necklace. It is about two and a half inches long and close to an inch wide. There is a stone wrapped by what looks to be copper wire. There is a loop at the top. It registered in the low 60's on my AT Pro. Native American? Any other ideas?

Kids school project?

Its a "wire wrap" stone.

Common amongst the hippy / earthy crowds.

Yep ,, I go with the "Wire Wrapped Stone"
Lots of items from the Hippie years were home made, including pipes for smoking Wacky Tobacky

I don't know why, but it looks Native American to me.

Maybe is used like a lead for fishing :dontknow:
