Sorry, looks like a geo-fact to me.

May be a crude chopper, but if so, doesn't show tons of use.

Natural rock

Yea I have no clue. It's only "worked" half of it and flat on other side
Thanks!

Does the stone feel heavy and dense? It looks like the start of one of these Stone Hoes possibly.

Yes it does have that feel and similar appearance. Might be one that is impossible to prove. Since i have rescued many artifacts from the area, I know I tend to question natural rocks more than I normally would

Pieces like this are annoying. Could Just be a geofact but if it was found at a site amongst other artifacts there's more reason to believe it was worked on.
Question, have you found any Hoes, choppers ect... That are made of that material/ style
From the area?

There are thousands of geofacts at artifact sites. Edge looks like work of mother nature not man to me.

Sad to say but I just dont have the room to bring the ones home anymore that Im not certain are something. I do put them in spots where I can go back and look at them again later if Im just not sure. I use to bring everything home but just cant do it anymore. The rock you are showing I would of left for a later view. imo the rock in question looks to be the rite shape but the type of rock to me looks to of been to hard of a stone they liked the slate and schist around here for hoes. The soil here is way to hard for slate and schist to dig with though so they must of used something to break the ground with before using the hoes to cultivate with would be my guess.

I am no expert but . I think that it could have been worked. Think about all the kids that had to learn. I think it may have taken years to learn.
