Need some help

A friend of mine has this piece not sure what it is I thought maybe for sipping tea? Bottom with holes is hinged it's made of silver and the mouth piece is 10k. About 6 inches long. Thanks in advance. Looking for age also

I might also point out... this is made of Alpaca... not silver.

Alpaca is a metal alloy... made of copper nickel and sometimes zinc or iron.

Alpaca looks like silver and also stainless steel.
