Found this while metal detecting today. It's obviously the state seal of New York but i'm wondering what it is. Or what is was used for. I don't think it's that old or valuable but just curious.

As I don't see any sign of an attachment loop that has gone missing (in which case I would have thought that it had been a key fob), I believe it is just a souvenir from a visit to New York. It's similar to the one linked to below (on the one side anyway). I'm sure how their estimating it's age (perhaps on the appearances of the Empire State Building that's on the other side) so anyway, for what it's worth; Vintage Empire State Building New York State Seal by cerritorose
