These are some of my finds from the other day. What would y'all grade the 1854 Seated Liberty as?
Also any help on the one buckle that has JES written on it and the necklace pendant. Thank you!

From what I can tell, it should go AU at least. Nice find.

I'm no good at grading but I would say very, very nice ;)

I would grade that coin Awesome! Don't see many dug coins in that condition. Would help the numismatic types with grading if you can get a nice clear close up of both sides.

HI; XF 40 to AU. Sweet find. PEACE:RONB

XF, but for being dug maybe AU. You can't see it with the naked eye, but having been buried in the soil leaves many minute scratches............But what a "stunning" coin!!!
Congrat's!

Well what ever is decided on of the grade of your coin,I will simply say not many of those seated quarters that came out of the ground can compare with yours.

Yep,, without magnification, it appears to be in AU grade.
Now if you were able to have it graded by PCGS,, it would in all probability come back with an "Environmentally Damaged" tag.
That "Tag" will render the coin's worth about 10% of what the
R.S. Yeoman's Red Book says it is worth.

I was a coin dealer for 20 years. XF 45 not AU... great coin...

awesome coin - but second they see or know it was dug - grading goes down - so beware

It would come back graded as possibly scratched but who cares! She is gorgeous! :icon_thumright:

Sweet seated, i would say fine condition if not better...

I love these threads every time the come up. Casper, Master Jedi, and Against the wind are spot on IMHO.

Great find however, so congrats. I found a '53 quarter recently.

Nice one! I like dug coins better, they have more character. I don't sell them anyway unless it's a key date silver that can buy more toys....

I would grade it "very nice coin".

That's a beauty of a Seated! Way to go!

XF45 - AU55 would be my guess.
