So Ive been monkeying with custom programming a little bit, and was wondering if anyone in the north east here has some numbers they like to use in the area, I copied the stock program, and bumped up the ac, vdi, and preamp gain numbers but had some erratic behavior out of it, So I backed them off 1 or 2 digits at a time. Anyone wanna share what their program is? or is the erratic behavior OK as long as it isn't falsing targets? Target ID seems to be OK even though the machine isn't acting like the stock program. What I mean by erratic is I will get a few diffrent vdi numbers coming up, but when listening and not looking, I am not hearing them all, unless its an actual solid target. Since I was out yesterday at a foundation, I dug only the solid signals, which was some harmonica parts, the I decided to dig some of the chirps (theres alot of aluminum foil at this foundation) So I then dug a mess of foil, and a RR spike. Now I have had pretty good luck with finding coins with it, I am just trying to maximize the machine. I have dug an IH from over 6 inches, so maybe I am trying to push too far? Or maybe its snowing on a bored out of my mind Saturday morning?

And for my smaller coil I have the recovery speed at 20, maybe I should be using the smaller coil at the foundation and dig out ALL of the foil, At this particular place I had found 3 old spoons, 1 silver plated, alot of harmonica parts, and 1 IH cent. I believe the foundation was only used for a short time and a larger house was built across the street, I have done pretty well at the place across the street. Being idle today and thinking a bet it is the foil messing me up, of course the signals vary for the foil since some is shredded , and some is all balled up, they musta had a heck of a problem with skunks and raccoons at one time.
