I had a long drive to northern Nevada yesterday and this is the time of year out here there are thunderstorms that set the sage country on fire from the lightning strikes and it makes for some pretty awesome sunsets. One time I was getting gas in Valmy Nevada, which is right off of I80 and a storm came along and lighting struck right across the interstate and within minutes there was a blazing fire from that strike. Just last Saturday there was a brushfire that burned quite a few acres that charred the hills east of Elko. I guess they closed the interstate for that one. Hopefully I won't run into any of those situations while I'm out here.
