Found on my best Roman field but l think it's much later, looks like a Flower head in White metal. reminds me of a Gramaphone Horn. Pictured on a Dime, (whatever that is) John.
Hmmm not too sure about it being a posy holder, I think it's a little bit small for that.
I am inclined to agree with SS, about it being a be a candle snuffer.
A bit small for a candle snuffer. it is just under half an inch high and just under half an inch wide. might just do for birthday cake candles,(the small ones) John.

I can see why John would have trouble buying the candle snuffer. The few snuffers I've run across are an order of magnitude larger. You couldn't lay them sideways on a quarter without touching the table, forget about a dime. Maybe on a 50 cent piece.
In that case then the only other thing i can think of is it is a depiction of a gramaphone horn. My mother used to have a small metal one used as an ornament that had the little dog with it, the symbol for the "his masters voice" record label. That was all Bronze though so i don't know really.
Since it is smaller than a dime, I don't think it is a candle snuffer. It appears to be part of a 'flower' from a figural candelabra. During the Victorian era, there were some really gaudy candelabras as well as other items. Although the flowers in the first pic are not shaped like yours, I feel sure you could Google to find some similar. Interesting find, Breezie
