I was just wondering if you can clean coins with this magic wadding, and not devalue them. I've tried it and it shines great with no scratches but it seems to remove a slight layer of the metal. I ask because the bank I went to this morning did'nt have any halves, only $10 in Ikes so I bought them and the one has a cracked die and another is an double die,(not in any of my books) they are a little dirty. I know I cant take a picture of this but I'll try to take them to a coin shop and post back. Thanks... :icon_scratch:

I wouldn't- it may not damage the coin at all, but people like a natural tarnish to their coins. If the coin is unnaturally shinny, it will detract from its natural beauty. Best policy is not to clean coins at all, except with a toothbrush

GC, not all of us like the tarnish, I was dipping all my "junk" silver for awhile because it just looks SOOOO beautiful shiny as possible. I wouldn't recommend it for valuble coins, though! FFD

You can find silver out there with its original shine still on it and those are the prize. I would not clean any coin unless it is already really far gone and Never clean a rare or valueable coin.
