Just got my new 5X8 DD coil for my AT Pro yesterday and had to try it out in a small area by a ball field that I has already found silver. This area is full of junk and right next to a large chain link fence. The 5X8 DD coil is really nice to work with and does a great job of separating the trash from the coins. I was able to pinpoint $2.50 in clad in an area I had already gone over with my 8.5x11 DD coil. The most interesting thing was how close I could get to the fence without the chain link overwhelming the signal completely. I could get right next to the chain link portion of the fence and did get a constant hum from the metal but still was able to pinpoint coins right next to the fence. The poles were still harder but I was able to get within about a foot and still get a coin signal. That is where I was able to dig a 1943 merc that was about 5 inches deep. It was about 15 inches from the fence post. I could not get within about 2 feet of that pole with my 8.5x11 DD coil. Love my new 5X8 coil especially for trashy areas. In addition, the balance with the lighter coil is perfect. I may never take it off again..
