Spotted a few rocks out in the river that looked out of place.
went out for 30 minute hunt,
scored a pewter button, shamrock with a bit of gilt remaining.
copper ship spike & fragment, embossed copper band, and a few bits of slag.
I like the slag bits, as it shows people were casting here.
unfortunately will be unable to return for a couple days,
but I'm gonna hit this one hard !

Update: another search yields many 1800s fishing jigs, including a double ender, first I've found, these are what they were casting. : http://www.photolib.noaa.gov/bigs/figb0070.jpg 2 civilian buttons, 'stand gilt rich orange' backmark, plain face, thanks for looking! & HH, Herbie

that square head iron spike cleaned up great its prefect 
i have a pile i need to clean better i broke my electrolysis transformer but getting a new one
