I have a lot of experience with the CTX.
Some of my observations from the video:
I would run the manual sensitivity as high as possible, BUT it tends to run less stable. I usually keep mine around 20-25. It seems to run more stable Auto sensitivity +3. You are running target trace, which is good, but shrink your readings down, where you can see where the cross hairs hit on the screen.
My experience on all metal mode is it will hit junk high such as nails. I will switch between the gone hunting settings and all metal mode only when I am getting inconsistent hits. Almost always if the readings jump around it is going to be junk or SOMETIMES junk with a good target. The only times I am left head scratching is when copper pennies will hit in the low side (12.40) when they almost always will read 12.43. Go to "gone hunting for history" and download and save the readings chart. It is pretty accurate. Dig anything that runs stable 11+ and especially if they run stable 12.40+.
What Jason is saying about the readings is true, depending on the discrimination settings and mode. Be sure to GB over a clear area as well.
ALWAYS dig by sound first. I have dug high sounds that have read low and found good coins. Rely on sound mainly and only check your readings as an afterthought after you hear it first.
If a target sounds to good to be true when pinpointing it could probably be junk such as a aluminum can. Coins and small targets will only give you a quick sound when you swing past it with the pinpoint button pushed. Larger objects will sound for a split second or two longer. Learn to push the pinpoint button twice consecutively to give the pinpoint feature a re-tune, which makes it easier to pinpoint.
