I bought this digger off ebay for 30.00 and I really like it as it strong and really sharp, the first time out I sliced my hand good trying to wipe mud off of it. I am used to trowels bought at the local hardware store. Also sliced a nice hole in my favorite shirt when trying to place it in its sheath. digger.webp It slices through grass like butter and hands alike.

hmm looks like ya got a Blood spot on the Sheath :laughing7:

I've cut myself more times then I can remember on Diggers like that :laughing7:
it doesn't end, until I dull them :tongue3:

I find the greater risk is cutting yourself on (buried) broken glass, particularly in public areas like parks. Probably wise to carry a simple first-aid kit with you.....

Nice digger, but to sharp. Needs a larger slip guard.
Lesche diggers are just 'bout perfect .
Peace ✌

Never wore gloves till I sliced my finger on broken glass in the hole. Glad I keep the medical glue in our carry bag!!! Can't go wrong with superglue! :laughing7:

Nice looking tool. I have more cuts on my hands than I can count. A few more won't hurt(bad).

I have the blue handle model, it came with a slightly duller edge. I wound up taking a flap wheel and grinding deeper sererated edges and sharpening the edges all around. I love the tool. Its practical, and a great all around item to have

That is a serious digger which can double for protection! When I saw the pic, it reminded me of the knife holdup scene from Crocodile Dundee.:laughing7:

Frank

Sliced my finger on mine while just looking at it when I first got it! It's like yours.

Guess it's time to sharpen now.

I wear cut resistant gloves because of the glass and rusty iron.

Yes that is a ... A.M.Leonard's ... Digging tool it is called a soil knife i have used one for years they will last for ever and cut through roots like they are hot butter . And yes it is a sharp digger sharp on both the serrated side.and the blade side.. very very sharp...

On a Semi-related topic, anyone know what happened to the guy on here a month or so ago making nice shovels?

Yes the blue handle one is put out by .. Treasure Wise ... and are not as sharp as .. A.M. Leonard's .. one

Good lookin' digger!! Just ordered me one!!:headbang:

You will be very happy with it, excellent digging tool...and pry bar! Lol!

just don't put allot of pressure on them when digging.
I have one like it, orange handle & all. says A.M. Leonard
Tools that work on the handle.

It lasted less then a month before the Steel snapped.
about 3/4" down from the handle.

a friend welded the blade back together, but I never tried using it again.

I had a few more like it, brand name Treasure Wise 3_in_1_tool.webp
blue handles. & all snapped for me at the same spot 3/4" from the handle. . (except 1 That is lost in the woods somewhere)

As you can see the weld Didn't help on this one.

sorry ! I don't remember where I got them that I had so many.
I can't believe I paid for them though :tongue3:
at least not after the first one snapped.

I must have been convinced the next one would last forever :laughing7:

Of course I am hard on diggers, because I forget & try prying up rocks & roots
in the heat of my diggs.

But remember they are not Forgiving. They will not Bend, They will snap off.

but they are razor sharp & if your Left hand is near the spot you push the knife in the ground with your right hand, Be careful :laughing7:

I currently pack an old Marine K-bar. I think it might be a little intimidating when I'm standing around blabbin' with some people. It is sharp and cuts right through the sod though!! Never tried pryin' with it....

That is surprising Jeff, the Leonard digger blade appears at lest 1/8" thick, and I guess was made in Italy, has "inox Italy" stamped in the blade. I've had it for a year and a half no problems. I pried that rusty round thing out of the hole with it. Guess I will be more careful now.
