Thought I posted this earlier but can't find it. Apologizing in advance if this is a duplicate. Went to the first estate sale being held by a new local company this morning. Spent $13 total on 3 weighted candlesticks that will scrap 1.5-2 ounces, a 14k necklace that will scrap around $75, a Bye Lo doll kit that will ebay for $30-40, about an ounce of gold fill, & 2 Montblanc Pens.

One of the pens has a 14k nib & the other is a ballpoint. Both are marked Montblanc, Meisterstuck, & W Germany. One has a serial number on the cap. The ballpoint is dry but has a cartridge marked Montblanc. I don't know anything about these except they can be valuable. Hoping these aren't fake & someone can give me a little more info.

Certainly if the nib is 14k then it wouldn't be fake or at least I would think so! Nobody would go through the trouble to make a fake with a genuine 14k nib! Don't scratch test it though, you could damage it, they're thin and bend easily.

Shine a bright light in the end cap and if it glows a translucent red it's probably real

What is gold fill?

Guess I could have been more specific. I meant gold filled jewelry. Gold filled is a plating process that puts a layer of gold over a less valuable metal. It's different than god plate in that enough gold is used to make recovery economically feasible.
