Hello, Ian! I think you'll really like the F-70, in my opinion the F-75 should have been built that way!! Great machine, though not as adjustable for fine tuning like the '75, in the discrimination department. While you cannot half notch items on the '70, you have an adjustable range between the notch, before notching out the next item, so after you feel that out, it isn't much different. Also, you can't change the ground balance number manually on the '70, (i.e. raise or lower it after ground grab), but I have seen little to no reason to do so. You'll get great depth and target separation both with the small coil on the '70, and, really, the electronics are very similar to your '75! Of course, I'm sure you know there is no backlight, but that usually is of little consequence. No problems with EMI on the one I own, or anyone else's that I've spoken to! A great BIG plus!! LOL!! I can generally run mine at 99, if I feel like it, although 580 is my favorite setting, due to picking up metal from the side of the coil. In TN., I use the number 3 freqency setting with fine results, but have played around between F1-F7. My unit seems to do the best in the middle spectrum of frequencies, although yours could differ. The stock coil for the '70 works quite well with the '75, also, especially in heavy trash!! I value your feedback immensely, so please, let us know what works in MI.!! Good luck and great hunting, Ian!! Regards, Richard.
