New family on the pond, again- UPDATED
I was woken last Monday morning with shouts of "Ian....Ian...Ian", when I finally woke from my slumber (well deserved by the way) I was told of a family of small duck chicks trapped down a storm drain. I donned my trusty waders and entered battle, lifted the cast iron grating and there they were, a clutch of 15 day old mallard chicks trying to commit suicide down a storm drain. Well 20 minutes or so later I had them all out and then spent the rest of the morning wading about making ramps and feeding platforms for them, they're now family and their mom knows it
. Only one picture for now, the lighting this week has been real bad, but I promise to show their progress, and sorrows.
