Got permission on a small field. Way too many signals for the 15" coil. It was pain trying to sort it all out.

Wow, very nice finds. It's so neat you can find coins from the early 1600's and even earlier by you.

I'm especially interested in your coin.
It's definitely a Type II (date above versus below the crown).
Can you actually see the the '4' in the date since, I believe they were issued in 1634-1636 inclusively.

Looks like a 4 to me. Part of the number broke off as it dried. The patina is so deep there is barely no metal left in the detail.

Well, plenty of targets, so time to return with the small coil.
 

I don't expect many of those to be found any where else.And in the U,S.A.,WHO HAS FOUND ANY IN THE 1600 TIMES period?
