Whites GMT has always been an “aces” VLF gold machine. According to Steve Herschbach, this new machine is much more than a warmed-over GMT.

I'm not big on or well versed in Whites Machines.
How does this VLF machine outperform an FSB machine.
It's not submersible or salt water capable. The only thing attractive about it is the price
Minelab's prospecting machines are in the thousands.

What gold detectors are submersible? The minelab ones are 'rainproof'

Garrett AT Gold and ATX.

Equinox 800 is submersible.

Not sure if it's considered a gold detector even though it has a couple gold modes.

i have a gmz that 50khz .this new one is 48khz, so do i really need this one also?
also have a mxt and xlt.

I am not well versed on FSB so I am checking. Many gold metal detectors are either PI pulse Induction or VLF. The VLF are more affordable. Both the Gold Bug 2 and the Minelab Monster are VLF machines as is the Whites 24K

I am not certain, I am checking and will get back to you

Correctomundo. In my testing, I am an amateur, the Whites 24K outperformed the Garret AT Gold in the depth that it found the gold. The question is how much underwater detecting will you do versus dry land detecting. I have a AT Gold, bought it for my wife and I use it as my back up machine now for both gold and relic hunting. I want to test it nugget shooting under water

I was lucky enough to test it and it outperformed the Minelab on my air tests. I am an amateur detectorist. I am super excited for this machine. (Disclosure I am a Whites Dealer and 24K Certified)

air test are fine if you want to know if a detector will see metal but show me what it will do when you are actually detecting dirt thats what counts is what will it do when actually detecting

I am really liking what I have been reading and hearing about the GMT 24k I currently use a GM 1000 and I do like it a lot one of the simplest machines I have ever used pretty much a turn on and detect machine, the GM 1000 bangs real hard on non ferrous targets and I have dug what I would consider some pretty deep non ferrous targets and it does hit on really tiny non ferrous targets that most would not even believe how small unless they were standing there and witnessed you dig them, but there are a few things I am not liking about the GM 1000 also so I am keeping a close eye on this new GMT 24k

Here is what the factory said "Single-frequency machines can punch deeper and respond faster than FSB machines. FSB (full-band spectrum) is Minelab's term for their own proprietary multi-frequency detectors. However, the machines only actually use two frequencies at a time. For gold prospecting a dedicated high-frequency machine will outperform FBS due to being specialized." Rich
