Hi all, well I spent hours and days trying to figure out if the GTI 2500 will be would be my next metal detector or not. I have a AT pro now and have bin using it just over a year I've gotten vary good with using it and trying to identifying trash or not. With thousands of pop tops, old cans and nails from old foundations I just have to wonder how manny of the targets I passed up on thinking dam that more junk. I now have the GTI 2500 and have start over
Well I made up my mine and just got a new gGTI

Let us know your thoughts. I also have a 2500 mine is an older model used to have treasure talk but I sent it in to get it updated with a better chip. It is a superior hunting machine. The weight just takes some time to get used to. I love my machine!

Driver, good luck with your 2500. I have an older one that i just purchased and I'm still learning from scratch. Anxious to also get to know it like the back of my hand!!

Can you please tell me a little more about this. Mine is the older 2500 with treasure talk and the standard 9-1/2" white coil. Is it worth sending in to have upgraded? Can you say ballpark what the cost was?

Thanks

Paul

Well as far as cost of the up grad I'm not sure but the up grad in its self would worth it. The People garret do a good job when you send it in for the up grad they also tune it and a fine tune machine pays for its self faster.
The GTI 2500 I just bough was a demo and the up grad was all dun and with a full warranty

Old truck driver give Garrett a call. They can give you more details. It is worth the money to get the upgrade!

Someday I wana get the 2500 I mean I could get it anytime but I wana have way more time for the hobby

I will say i liked my GTI 1500 better than i like my AT Pro....And i sold the darn GTI.... We all do stupid things i guess.....

Master chief ? I'm not the one looking for the up grad. I just bough a new GTI 2500 someone had asking if the up grade for the older GTI with treasure talk. worth the money for the up grade.

I have not had a good chance to get out much with my new one here in up state NY the ground is still frozen

Old trucks river saw that your not Paul right

Well, I will join in and let you all know what I find out about the upgrade. I too recently purchased a 2500 off Ebay for $525, it's the older model I think (it has treasure talk) and the 9 1/2" white imaging coil. I have only played in my backyard so far but noticed that the dime and quarters do not indicate properly on the screen, the dime is down in the penny range and the quarter is also down in range from it's indication. The unit is in good condition but unsure if it's calibrated properly (I did do the factory reset). Looking to get out more in the coming month and being able to contribute to the boards as I go. Thanks, Bob

Master Chief, No I haven't had the time to look into it yet and I'm still on the fence where I should spend my limited $ first

I think I might look into purchasing a sniper coil first, then as I get to understand the machine better and see just how much time I can dedicate to MD'ing I will look into having it upgraded.

Regards

Paul

I called Garrett and they would not give me a estimate for re-calibration. I also read off my serial number and she said it appears to be a 2002 model, anyone know how to decipher these numbers 21130026 ? So has anyone else sent theirs in for re-calibration and what they charged? Also wonder how much they charged to put in the new board/chip. I will probably send mine in at the end of the month.

I've read that the first number is the month, and the second number is the year.
I can't confirm
