NEW GUY FROM BRADENTON, FL....

Just wanted to say hi to everyone.
I just bought a used Discover y 2200 detector for $50.
I wanted to get into the hobby inexpensively at 1st to make sure I like it.
Is this a decent detector for a newbie ?
I'm going to start off at parks and the beach first then on to some old properties.
