Just got started in metal detecting(Garrett Ace 350 , and Pro-Pointer) for new hobby before deer season. Live in Asheville, NC and own a farm in Bristol, VA. Family has a farm and spend a lot of time in Johnson City, TN.
A friend told me to look for old home/cabin sites on farms. Said a certain type of tree grows where an old homestead used to be. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Questions.....Any interesting sites to hunt in Western NC? Southwest VA? Tri-Cities? Any clubs?
