New here and to detecting

Hello all. I'm a southern transplant living in SW PA. I'm completely new to detecting, but I'm a major history nut, and love to be outside. I am currently swinging a BH, but just got ahold of a free Whites 6000/ DI pro (blue box), and am waiting on my battery pack to arrive from Whites. I have a lot to learn, and I'm all ears. My main interest at the moment are military relics and old coins. I'm itching to dig my first pre-civil war coins. The Braddock March fiasco really has my attention at the moment, and I'm really hoping to get a few permissions on some early 1740s homesteads. Happy hunting to all!
