Good afternoon, my name is Mark from the big hot valley. I've been interested in detecting for a number of years but have just not taken the time to get started. I had a Garrett Ace 150 and played around with it for a few years but nothing serious.
I picked up a nice set up last week, a Garrett Ace 300 with a case, ProPointer AT, coil cover, and head phones. I've decided to really get serious and spend a lot of time detecting. I'm at the age now (51) where I have the time and means to really start enjoying this great hobby.
I started in my backyard and found 3 Lincoln pennies, and a toothpaste tube. I'm still getting familiar with this detector and am reading and watching videos. I plan to go out this week and hit some parks and some of the areas of the Kings river where people congregate.
I hope to learn lots here, and welcome any advice. One quick thing, I absolutely love my pinpointer and am looking for new and interesting ways to use it,
