Hello everyone. My name is Mike. I'm new to this site and 2011 was my first year metal detecting. I am primarily a relic hunter but also like digging coins. I am located near Richmond, VA. Over the past year I have found some nice Civil War relics. My favorite things to dig are Civil War bullets and buttons. My best find to date is a 1862 Seated Liberty Half Dime. Over the past two weeks I've dug four rare bullets that I believe are from a Billinghurst Requa Battery Gun. My oldest coin to date is a 1849 Large Cent (Big Penny). I also scuba dive for relics in the rivers around Richmond. I us a Fisher F75 LTD on land and a Fisher CZ-20 in the water. I hunt with a few guys that are veteran relic hunters and they have taught me a bunch. I'm always looking for some new digging buddies around VA. I just acquired permission to a few new spots and 2012 is turning out to be an excellent year for relics so far. Thanks guys and I hope to meet some of you soon. -Mike
