Excellent news on getting permission!

If you find any keys, turn them in to the manager. They will love that!

HH!

It looks like you are off to a good start. Can't wait to read about your next trip there. Any idea how old the fair grounds are?

early 1900's

Hey NorCal!

Gotta love an old fairground! My second best find came from one, an 1885 Newfoundland dime. Check out the mintage on it ( 8,000 ) and you will wonder why it is not a whole lot more valuable.

Scope out the site real good, check out any old pics of the place. Old Pictures can lead you to spots such as picnic areas or parking areas for horse and buggy. Look for dirt piles around the perimeter. Any digging that occurs can end up with extra dirt, which is piled to one side for use in other projects. I have found some nice coins by checking those piles. If you see any sign that utility poles or concrete pilings or footings have recently been installed, take the time to search the extra dirt around these spots. You may have to move the dirt away from metal and then put it back. A pinpointer may work better in those spots.

Good Luck!!........HH

Hey Cooter

I have a 1984 633Csi BMW 6 Series, production from 1976 to 1989, the pics that I use are from my last Marin run we had 34 cars on the nice winding roads through the redwoods it was great.Stopped and had lunch by Mill Valley.
I still have some work to get it totally restored but she runs like a champ and a lot of fun to drive.
Thanks for asking; I like to talk about her.

It is nice to hunt the grounds but with permission just makes it more enjoyable without having to wonder who will come up to you.
