After a hour at the Barber lot and nothing to show but a few wheats I decided to head over to another lot I havent been to in awhile, glad I did 10 minutes In I got a clean 96 on my Pro and lo and behold out popped the dollar. Its been so long since I seen one I wasn't sure what I had right away. 10 minutes later I saved this Mercury from its dirt tomb, walked 10 steps and found a ring, seen a stone and got excited till I pulled it from the dirt and seen it wasn't a quality made ring, not ugly but no precious metals. A small silver and enamal pin, part of a lead Davy Crocket And than the keys, I find a average of 3 to 4 keys a hunt, crazy. HH

Sure is, I really think I found over 60 last year. For some reason I like digging them. Alot of them are really unique.

Awesome hunt, Ray. We out here in the tundra are envious of your ability to go detecting! Your pin is a Smith and Wesson medallion. Does it have a clutch pin on the back or a small nub or bolt? It may have actually came off of a grip of a handgun. Or, it is a tie tack or lapel pin. Happy hunting, Sub 8-)

That S&W emblem looks like it might have come off the grip of a revolver. ALSO... Make real sure that bicentenial Ike isn't silver. If the ground roached that Mercury dime into that state, that dollar could fool you too. They made several 40% silvers. Nice finds regardless!

Awesome digs! You sure have some great spots to hunt!

Thanks Texas Trash, I think alot of them are virgin grounds because there located not in the greatest neighborhoods here in Vegas, but if you want the old stuff you have to go where its at. There starting to be lost to new buildings and parking lots though.

Ha, your on a ring roll. Nice finds, I haven't seen a silver in months!

Thanks for sharing...

Nice finds. I'm still looking for my first Mercury dime. I've dug over a $1,000 in coins, all clad except for a '41 quarter and one silver Rosie. :icon_thumright:

Sweet finds! I like the Smith & Wesson logo. HH,

Great finds! That soil sure was hard on the coins, but a dollar is a dollar!
