Hello to all just wanted to introduce myself, live in Hattiesburg, MS and have just started detecting. Got decent equiptment but have no idea how to set it up regards to what the heck i am looking for. The manuals that come with these detectors do not help in my opinion. Started detecting with my daughter and my son for something to do and get them from behind all the gaming systems. Any help would be appreciated!

Detecting with your children is priceless. If you go to YouTube and search the model of the detector, I'm sure some "getting to know" videos exist.

You could just ask questions on the forum, but metal detecting is best done in a "hands on way". Create a test-bed in your yard and practice detecting, changing settings to determine what works in your region.
