Hey gang, I'm new to this forum but have been metal detecting for a long time. I have a Whites PI 1000 and Fisher Pulse 8X that I use on the beach and underwater. The battery on my 8X can't hold a charge like it used to and needs to be replaced, but they cost $75-100 from Fisher. Has anyone had luck getting around this cost with a homemade 9v nicad setup or even alkalines? Thanks!
