I posted these on another thread, but here they are a little easier to find.

The New Minelab ETrac is not to be sold until the end of this month, but the dealers have them already (so they can play with and learn them a bit before selling them). This one just arrived.

I can tell you that this is what the Explorer SHOULD have been when it came out. The weight is less and balance is great. All the Menus are much more user friendly, and easier to navigate. It comes with both rechargeable and alkaline battery packs.

Enjoy-Mike

Looks more user friendly to me.
Let us know how it shakes down.

so in comparison to the other minelab where does this one rate? Is this the new top of the line over the explorer or would it fall into the area of an x-terra70 or quattro? How much are these going to retail for? and the coil shape is cool, is it more the look or is there something special about this coil. Details Please ;D

The E-Trac is fashioned after the Minelab Explorer SE, which many of us know so well and love. It also features the 11” DD Searchcoil of the Explorer SE Pro – but it’s gets better. The E-Trac features a USB port to connect your detector to your personal computer. Just like with your digital camera, this allows you to save your settings on your computer – user modes, patterns, your favorite settings, even the settings of other detectorists (which is perfect if you let someone use your machine or loan it out to a friend).

The Main Menu provides access to all functions and settings of the E-Trac detector. Press the "Menu" button at any time to access the main menu, browse and navigate through each of the icons. You'll see "User Modes," "Discrimination," "Sensitivity," "Audio," "Expert," and "Preferences" - Each of which is customizable for your specific needs.

When you plug the E-Trac into your computer, you’ll see Minelab’s “XChange” software load. An installation CD is supplied with the machine, but you can build an entire resource library with just the click of your mouse! Download and store the settings and patterns that you saved or upload them later. There is NO limit to the number of stored settings you can save, and you can even share your settings and experiences with other detectors!

Here’s the link to buy one, see more pictures, and see the accessory package we’re offering with it: http://www.kellycodetectors.com/minelab/e_trac_buy.htm

Let me know if you have any other questions! I’d love an excuse to play with this machine!

This Metal Detector owns two types of operation modes--discrimination and all metals. 8 pieces of 1.5V AA type batteries can be used as its power supply. It has the ability of distinguish Metal and mineral, ferrous and non-ferrous metal. The detecting depth of it can reach 1.5 meters. What’s more it has the function of low battery indication and lead wire disconnection alarm.

Thought Bubble: "Did I seriously just spend over $1500 on a new E TRAC! Yes, I did.... I think I'm gonna be sick... My wife is gonna kill me... What are we gonna eat for the next month... I CAN'T WAIT TO GET IT!!!!"

2 things have become apparent, First this unit has got WAY more capabilities than I could have imagined and the massive amount of info to use all of them is overwhelming. Learning curve may never end. 2nd, This thing is awesome. Turned it on, stepped out in the yard and it marked 2 silver dimes right off the bat. Area has been covered with a tweaked Sovereign and a qt. jar of coins and jewelry recovered previously. This is gonna break some hearts out in the field.
MINELAB RULES!!!!!!!
