I ordered a new Nel "Attack" coil for my AT Pro and couldn't wait to get out and test it at a site that I had previously pounded. It's a bit heavier relative to the standard coil but it can cover a lot of ground and should have a bit more depth. I went to a front yard of an early 1900's home that is empty and the owner said I can detect all I want until it's sold. I found a few wheats and modern coins in the past but nothing exceptional. Last time out I found nada.
I was impressed with the new coil. I had some challenges with learning the "sweet spot" on pinpointing but it's going to be a nice addition to the hunting arsenal for areas that are relatively junk free.
My first find was an aluminum washer at 4 inches. The next find was a barber dime at about 6 inches. Very Nice!
I also found an aluminum trade token (MD&R Medford Oregon) but it's in pretty bad shape. Anyone ever successfully straighten out a bent up trade token? A newer nickel and penny were also found but they were also 4 inches deep or so.
Now I can revisit all my old hunting grounds with renewed enthusiasm, hope and confidence. Ha!
