Well if u seen my post yesterday you know that my oldest coin was a 1901 Indian Head penny well today i went to the same spot where i found that penny, which was my grandparents front yard. Today i went under the porch and got a good penny signal but it made the detector go crazy so i knew it was going to be shallow. I moved away the straw and barely had to move any dirt and out popped my first 1800's coin an 1865 Indian Head penny, its in pretty rough shape but ill take it :D also in the front yard of my grandparents i dug my first Silver Roosevelt dime a 1950 :D well thanks for looking and HH everyone

can only hope but I doubt it.. house I been detecting for a year or so I found 8 large cents, IH'S, MERCS. 2 ROSIES a 44 washington but no Flying eagles or seated or barber anything..which I think is odd

Believe it or not the 65' look's pretty good and might clean up a little better.WTG

nice work....congrats

Happy Hunting!

Awesome job bud!!!! The oldest coin that I have found was an 1893 V-Nickel. Keep hunting the yard but in different directions, then once you got all of the signals then raise you sensitivity all the way up just about until its unstable. But makesure there is no trash to foul up you readings, who knows you may beable to get more coins.

Congrats on the firsts! Love indian heads. Might wanna try some more excavation under that porch!

Thanks! and the yard isn't to trashy so i should be able to clean up all the iron pretty quick. Hopefully there are a couple more waiting for me. I seen the 18 and that was enough for me but to be as old as it is...just awesome i love this hobby lol. HH
