New Orleans: city parks

I'll be visiting NOLA for 4 days starting Thur. Any idea as to the legalities concerning city parks, I know State Parks are off limits but am having a hard time finding a definitive city ordinance. I am staying in the Elysian Fields section, Thanks, Kevin

I emailed city park admin about 6 months ago and they told me it was ok to md there. Not sure if the whole park is legal.
