The local antique guy who never budges on price finally gave in after 3 years of being a stubborn mule, added 3 stoneware jugs, 3 Paterson glass bottles, and one from West Orange N.,J. for a friend...
Boyle is a 1/2 gallon
Volmi a 1 gallon
Forbes & Botbyl a 4 gallon
James Butler was only in the grocery business from 1898-1902 when the Great Fire of 1902 burned down his store along with 85% of Paterson's business district. Rare to have matching slugplates on both sides of a bottle
The Gold Seal is the first documented example on the NJ Bottle Forum website
The Warren is a new variant
The Boylan & Sturr have only been seen found with the "REGISTERED" version of that slugplate, this new 1900 crown throws a money wrench into the works. Sturr is long gone but Boylan is still in business today, their Creamy Red Birch Beer is the best soda on Earth!!!
