Finally got permission to dig at an 18th Century home I’ve been drooling over for years. Only had about an hour and a half to dig this evening, but I was chomping at the bit to have at it. I don’t believe the property has ever had a metal detector run over it before, signals everywhere. First good signal was a wheat penny, followed by an 1832 large cent, two silver dimes and many other coins. Also, I found this brass item near the large cent, any idea what it is? I only covered a small area, can’t wait to get back at it, maybe tomorrow.
