Finally got permission to dig at an 18th Century home I’ve been drooling over for years. Only had about an hour and a half to dig this evening, but I was chomping at the bit to have at it. I don’t believe the property has ever had a metal detector run over it before, signals everywhere. First good signal was a wheat penny, followed by an 1832 large cent, two silver dimes and many other coins. Also, I found this brass item near the large cent, any idea what it is? I only covered a small area, can’t wait to get back at it, maybe tomorrow. Looks like your permissions going to pay off big time. Nice finds so far. Keep at it. Can’t wait to see what other saves come out of that ground. Congrats on the permission and the resent finds.

Congrats on the Large Cent and Silver.
The brass item reminds me of a part of a latch for a large pocket book.
Congratulations on an excellent hunt .
