I picked up 5 permissions on the same street last week and decided to hit one today. I wasn't really feeling up to hunting because I haven't slept good the last 2 nights, but I thought I needed to at least go hit a couple of places today. First I needed to stop by the old zoo because they are trenching for a new perimeter fence and will be laying rebar starting Monday. Not much to show for it right now, I need to wait until they haul the dirt out and try and talk the driver into spreading the dirt out a little. It was piled next to a metal fence and I was unable to cover all the dirt because of the interference from the fence. I did manage a rosie in a dirt clod and a wheatie. Next my first permission, the owned said the house was built in either 1949 or 1950. I figured maybe some jewelry, wheats and a rosie might pop up. Second signal and my first wheat, good sign. 4th hit was my first silver from the yard, so far so good. 20 minutes later and a few more wheats, out comes rosie #2 If that had been it for the day, I'd be ok with 3 silver rosies for the day. I hit a junk ring and a 1952 20 Centovos to finish off the front yard. I moved to the back and got some clad and a couple more wheats. I decided to regrid the front before heading out so I started my pattern and within 20 minutes I get a nice 12-47 high tone hit on the CTX next to the sidewalk, I'm thinking a clad quarter or a hose fitting, I just about fell over when I see one of my favorite coins, a SLQ with a readable date, oh yeah baby, my day day is complete!!!

I hit another permission but it only yielded some clad a 2 wheats. After not even feeling like hunting, it turned out to be a pretty good day of dirt digging, thanks for looking.

Heck of a good day congrats! I love SLQ's as well, and my first was a 1929 too.

Congrats on some great finds! Dark, dated or not, SLQ's are always one of my favorite coins to see posted.

Congrats on a great outing. You picked up some nice coins, and I like that marble and jack also.
