This morning I went to a new site (a 17 acre field), and for the first 30 minutes it was almost silent. Then I got my first signal finally, and it was a big old nail. Not far from that one I found another, and then another. From that point on I worked an area no bigger than 75' by 75', and I got signals like I've never had in such rapid succession. And the majority were low tones. Only one old soda can, and one bottle cap. (a rarety!) No coins today...yet!
The variety of finds are pretty cool. Half a horse shoe, and ox shoe, an old wrench, an old cap to some sort of tank, a metal ring with some sort of pin attached to it, and so on. I finally left when digging became a real chore. I lost count of the holes I dug, but there were plenty, and some of them were 8-10" deep.
Overall, a great hunt. Can't wait to get back there and continue. I'm must throw a shout out to Garrett for their Z Link wireless system with the MS-3 headphones. Just got them on Tuesday. I am loving the cordless lifestyle. No more tangling up/tugging at my head when putting down the detector to dig. Nice!!
Thanks for looking!
