New Personal Website--Treasures of New Mexcio

Min,from 1974 to 78 I was stationed at Kirtland. The old sub standard WW1 housing on base yeilded me a lot of silver back then with an old TR best find a 1927S Standing Quarter in mint condition.I hunted a lot of parks in town and found a lot of jewelry and silver. One of the best parks for me was a park on the other side of old town I think Rio Grand Park? found two Franlin halves in one hole.Yea hunted Madrid when it was a real ghost town the ballfield had some great finds but a lot of snakes.Waldo on the other side of Madrid didn't produce but probably had promise a lot the old hotel foundation. I live in Michigan now and was on a military leave from General Motors maybe I should have stayed in the Air Force LOL.Anyway you have plenty of good places to hunt around your area. One of the locals Pres Victor would say Airman if you drop by the Paloma Bar don't forget you chainsaw. Happy Hunting Ron

excuse me...but you have some rather high profile PROTECTED sites on that list of treasure hunting sites.
some of these sites are on reservations ...so any violation of laws will be federal.

28 years in new mexico should have taught you how fussie the federals are about archaeological sites.

Only listing them for information purposes--yes some are high profile I agree---not intended for anyone to go on them--just listing names.

A disclaimer concerning protected site has been placed on the web page--thanks to Pippinwhitepaws for bringing it to my attention.

thank you minstrel...
i know a large number of people collect native american pieces...and may be allowed to do so out east...the southwest is a different story about carrying artifacts home. i would not like to see someone come to harm through lack of knowledge about how the government treats that behavior out here.

thank you again.
