I got out for a little this evening and headed for our Bed and Breakfast property. I figured with all the rain we just got maybe some CW lead would expose itself. I was there for about a half hour finding a few then decided to do some door knocking for a new property, got lucky on my first knock.
When I started my hunt I worked a straight line through the side yard wanting to check the front yard first. It was a short walk but things weren't looking good, no decent hits.
Out front only minutes swinging I got my first decent repeater 80 and dug a two wheat spill. For the next hour I didn't dig much other then some more wheats and an old brass brooch.
I was getting ready to leave but, thought I'd mess around some more in the one area I found a few wheats. Up until now I was running the iron discrimination off, now I decided to change it up and swing with it on.
Didn't take long and I dig a 1903 Indian Head, not in the greatest shape. A few minutes later I get 84 hit and flip a plug, 3 wheats and a 45 merc.
I only go about 5 feet and get a good solid 85 hit. Flip a plug and see one of those big green disc laying in the hole, 1828 large cent. This one is in a little better shape then most my big coppers, it could be a 1825?
Didn't stick around after finding the LC, do plan on making another trip there soon.
