Yesterday and today's after work hunts really came together, including today's bucket list three-cent silver. I did about 45 minutes each day due to the sunlight disappearing at 4:30.

The Deus really performed well in the heavy iron. My CTX just went nuts anytime I went near this area. What made me wander over again was a well I discovered after the brush died down.

The lamination error on this trime planchet is unbelievable. I can't play with this one much.

I love both machines, each one complementing the other. Together they're unstoppable.

Good digs

Love the Trime Steve. Did it ring in as a mid tone? You pulled some nice finds, especially that piece with the horse on it.

Congrats on the trimmy trimmy trime!.....
Get those hunts in while you can!...time running out this season...
How much longer you think you got?....New years maybe?

Awesome finds. Congrats
I could go on and on about all of those finds... Great job.

Trime is a tough one for all of us.

Question though...
The square holed "coin" is it a Chinese cash coin or maybe a lamp wick roller??

Congrats on the trime and other great finds

The Trime is on my bucket list.
Is that watch case marked Coin Silver?
Congratulations

Lack of sleep made me post this in "what is it?" And then it got moved. Lol. In the meantime I did a new post. Lol.

Thx Dave. It all depends on the weather. Usually New Years is a safe bet, and anything after that is luck. Then once the ground is frozen is when things get weird! Lol

Thx bud. No markings on the case. My guess would be turn-of-the-century.

I believe it's a wick adjuster.

That trime definitely was a tough signal. But this is a dig everything spot. Actually at first the coin looked like a 1/2 reale, and that's what I thought I'd found until I cleaned it.

Thx Loco. I don't know what it rang up as since with the Deus I just dig tones, but in 3-tone at 18khz it was bouncing between a low and mid tone. Lots of iron too.

Next time you come East I'll take you over to this spot. It's a huge area loaded with small iron. I know you like that kind of stuff;)

I believe my F75 with the 5"DD will do better than the Deus in the iron. When I swing the Deus here in Ohio it sure likes to ring up big iron as a high tone. :dontknow:

I had limited luck with my T2 in iron, but for me, the Deus fares better. In re: iron highs - That was the case for me, but I began figuring out the sound differences between deep iron highs and non-ferrous highs. I don't speak fluent Deus - but just enough to get by with it buddy.

Those things are so small...cant be an easy target to hit! Congrats on the great finds!

WTG on the Trime! Still looking for my 1st.

Nice digs! Gotta love the Trimes! A silly coin designed to buy stamps...lol

I've got a CTX, and my buddy has a Deus. Your right about them complimenting each other. I've pulled coppers super deep he totally misses, but he pulls coins out in areas I've scoured! I think Santa will be bringing me a Deus this year... lol

Thanks for posting! GL and HH!

I wondered where your post went...
I find a bunch of the cash coins where I am in the California gold country, so thought that your wick winder might have been one with no mint mark.
Great find on that Trime... Don't you just love it when that once in a lifetime pic comes out blurry...
I found a 1/2 real (very rare for here) a week or so ago and it gave a strange signal. I think it was on edge in the heavy trash I was hunting.
My just dug pic was blurry also.
Keep up the hunt...

The ones I have seen in the past are marked
"Coin Silver" and dated with the Watch Makers Name.
That information is usually engraved on the inside of the watch case behind the guts.

Nice Trime, Scrappy. Hope it's the first of many for you. :)

And you are right about the Deus and CTX complimenting each other. Nothing is left for any other VLF to find once those two machines hit a site. :)
