Just got permission to a new site. Home is not old but there is a well in the yard and the homeowner told me there was a late 17th century or early 18th century home near it. I had only 40 minutes to hunt, so made a beeline for the well. FIRST signal was the halfpenny. Third signal was the KGII. It looks burnt. Not toasty, literally burnt. It's bent and bubbled. I told Abe I'm on 30 yrs from where this place could give me my pine tree!

Nice early site buddy. You just never know what's gonna come out of those early sites

Idable GEO I is a good find, and don't show up too often. Hope you get back there soon.

Maybe those were meant for the wishing well but never made it :laughing7:. But that's good for you. Nice finds!

Nice saves D.F..
Good luck with that site.
Hope you find that big first!!!
George

Good job finding the KGI Halfpenny. My only KGI halfpenny is a 1723 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny. Maybe there is some colonial silver from that time, Good Luck. Also,I found an Indian Head Penny that was the same as your KGII Halfpenny, burnt, not toasted. My guess is that there may have a fire where you found it at one point after it was dropped. Wood fires can get surprisingly hot, I have seen cans and glass bottles melt in a simple campfire.

Coinman123,

New site looks productive! Good luck!

I'm gonna pummel this place like Mike Tyson on Peter NcNeely. It's big (4-5 acres) but we'll see how much of it's good. Homeowner tells me it's been hit 10-12 hours (by a CTX wielding freak who has hit just about every site in town). Luckily for me he has low-end detector so I'm sure there's lots left. ;-)

Nice digs. I would like to find them, even the burnt one.

keep hitting that site, you never know what will pop out...
