Metal Detecting
Beautiful weather and a slow work week meant that Friday afternoon was made for detecting. I threw my stuff in the truck and headed off to a site that has been on my list for awhile, but which I have never hunted before. It did not disappoint. The first two targets were brass buttons: A two piece with an interesting floral motif and a smaller "double gilt" flat button with the shank intact but no other markings. I think they're awesome, but I know bupkis about buttons so if anyone has thoughts on an ID I'm all ears.

A little later on I found a diamond-shaped "Record Number and Destroy" tag, which a little research suggests once accompanied the keys to a new car. This was followed a short time later by a 1950 silver Rosie.

All in all, a nice historical variety plus about 60 cents in clad for good measure. Have a great weekend everyone!
