found an older house for sale right down the street from where i live....called the number on the sign and got the OK to hunt...said the property was originally purchased in the late 1800's he didnt know the age of the house.....but judging from the similarities between it and my guess is no later than the 20's.....the property consists of an entire block...house car shed and barn....with horse pasture fenced in white wooden fence.....pruchase price: $110,000 thinking of selling mine and buying that one....probaly wont happen but i can dream.....

ok sorry for the rant.....on to the finds....hunted about 2 hours and found 3 wheats 44, 47, and 56, also got another tax token.....found a couple zinc jar lids with the milk glass inserts....one had the glass intact so i kept it.....some sort of little buckle, an aluminum key that says M80, baby spoon, part of a rouge container, elongated penny that says "i love you" and St. Simon's Island, plus these two little whatsits (my son's name for whatsits is "Joe Dirt"...kinda like John Doe)...the Joe Dirts are round about the size of a quarter and have a little tab on the back....they were originally green and have white paint on top of that......

thank you for looking anf happy hunting

Sounds like a great place to hunt Marty. You found some good stuff for only 2 hours. Keep huntin' it till it sells!

Looks great, good luck on return! I really like finding elongated pennie. Cool!

Back in the late 40's/50's,they had several small badges from things you contributed to like Red Cross,Green Cross(safety),while you were in school. The badges were probably tin and the small tab you bent around your shirt, collar or pocket or near a front button.

Marty: Glad you found some new hunting turf! You found some neat relics. Keep us posted.
