I came across a camp with some items. I dug this snake buckle first target. I found the other broken piece 10 feet away. This little pocket knife and a few tid bits. Restoring them now. I'm hoping for some detail on the buckle.

I'm of the opinion your buckle is not a buckle at all but in fact a flint striker. I have one similar.
