I have walked this spot three times for an hour each time and found precious little past paintrocks galore. The whole area is covered in this type of rock in all sizes and shapes. This is the same place I found the contemporary metal arrowhead.

Today I was an hour and a half early so I parked the truck on a dead end and started knapping some glass. I grew bored so I walked the land and enjoyed the fresh air. Then I spotted a round rock. I grab it and it is absolutely flat on the bottom with peck marks all over it. A grinding stone! I think...anyway, about three feet from it was a broken scraper/knife. An obviously worked piece! Success!
It's been a while since I found an artifact so I am stoked.
Behold todays finds.

That blade looks whole to me....but I dont know much about your area. Molly would be the one to chime in on this one.
Congrats on yur finds. I know what its like to end a dry spell myself. I'm in the middle of one myself at the moment.

It is a broke. The other side has a really old break with the same patina all over. Still, I'm happy with anything that was once held by a man who might have died before Stonehenge was finished. Everything I find gets my respect even a lowly broken blade. I just plain love coming here and seeing everyones things. I really am glad to have anything to post.

I'm glad for you GL, and like you I'm happy when I find any artifact. Like Johnny Reb I'm in a dry spell but I think it will pick back up when they harvest the crops that are in the fields that I look. Thanks for sharing!
