Looks like a core, nice find. Or even a chopper.
 
That is a great piece. I’d call a quarry blank piece (core). Man has knocked off flakes for all his needs.
It’s a tool box of sort. Every tool needed could be made from that piece.
Keep looking you are really close to a great spot.
 
Oh yeah I found 3 ditches right next to where I found this rock.

GREAT place to hunt, if possible check area with google earth.
 
ive checked the area im searching on google earth and not much has changed since 1984, what should i be looking for on google earth?
 
river bends, side streams, no people, gravel bars, places where things accumulate ...
