It's the best way to dig IMO. No more kneeling down. I usually cut 3 sides and just roll about a 6 inch deep plug out and generally find the target somewhere close without much digging with the hand tools. It's a great shovel for other odd jobs around the house too! Good luck!

I dont mind kneeling. I wear the gel knee pads that are sold at Home Depot and harbor freight. I will dig then kneel down to retrieve the find.
