Thanks Whitesid. I did view that post but thought there was more to it. Just that simple huh?

Is there any special mink marks on post 65 quarters that are special?

yeah, keep any S mint marks they were only made for proofs.

Okay...question......what is a "proof"? I guess I just showed my ignornace huh...lol. Sorry but I just don't know what it means.

Like a picture proof...not many of them???

it means the coins that were only made for the plastic cases not circulation. the only way you can find them is when stupid people open the cases and spend them

heres a pic of what they are

Hey...that is nice looking. Is that your set? Are all coins with an "S" mintmarks proofs?

Which coins are best to buy? From that post that you gave me it looks like the halves are right?

well all S clad quarters are.
and yes the best to buy are halves, but if your bank has any large dollar coins buy them also, cause you may get silver dollars out of them and if not the coin stores will buy them for more than facevalue

Cool. Whitesid, you have been a big help. I think I will buy some halves tomorrow an try it...never know I guess.

Hey...what do you do with the silvers?

I'm keeping the silvers as the value only goes up in time, but i usually sell the wheat's, older Jefferson's, and the error coins.

Thanks again Whitesid.....I'll let you know how it turned out..... ;)

your welcome and good luck :)

There a several nice things about CRH:
1) You get it at face value
2) The thrill of the hunt
3) You get it at face value
4) You can build up a nice silver stash
5) You get it at face value
6) You get to learn more about coins and varieties
7) YOU GET IT AT FACE VALUE

If you start looking at halves dont forget the die varieties, the most notable the 1974D double die. Use a magnifying glass and look at the RUS in TRUST. If it is a double die, those letters will be doubled.

Word of warning though, CRH can be addicting!!!!

Whiteside - I went to my bank today and they did not have any boxes of the halves. They had about 7 in the cash drawer. I went through those and found a 1969 which is 40% silver right?

Just for my curiousity....what it that worth?

You are correct, it is 40%. Right now it is worth almost $2. You would get probably around $1.65 from a coin dealer for it.

Thanks Wayne....I just wish they had more at that bank. I will try another bank though.

Keep at it, they will add up. I sold all my 40% last year about this time and now I am back up to a count of over 800 (826 I think). You will have some skunk days, and you will have some OMG days. It is all the thrill of the hunt, just like MDing.
